This was a 31 week programme to refurbish a former Debenhams store (2 floors) into a new concept M&S store. This is the M&S flagship store, so an important addition the retail estate.
Shell works (12 weeks): strip out of walls, floors, ceilings, lifts and services back to shell, new lift shaft (including piling), main structural roof alterations, infill atrium with steel and concrete (including piling), new steels and grillage for plant deck, External cladding alterations, flooring prep works
Fit out (19 weeks): circa 100,000sqf of retail space, including 18,000sqf of food and café with 176 covers.
Works included: new concept clothing and home and fitting rooms, new Foodhall, Click and Collect and M&S Bank, Opticians, café, toilets and staff BOH areas, shopfit kit and loose equipment, LED large format screens both internal and external, external signage, graphics and lighting….and not to forget the pig on the roof!
